Responsibilities

As SQL Data Migration Specialist, you will be responsible for retrieving and manipulating data in databases from legacy systems while ensuring that data quality, integrity and completeness is maintained:

  • Working with various types of data ranging from personal ownership records through to complex financial data
  • Executing customer data migration plans, ensuring all project data migration activities are delivered on-time, within scope and to budget
  • Developing, testing and maintaining ETL scripts to load data into PlotBox database
  • Developing, testing and maintaining data validation scripts to evaluate customer data prior to migration
  • Developing alternative technical and functional approaches for data migration when necessary
  • Assisting clients to map legacy data and identify source data quality issues
  • Loading customer data into PlotBox using in-house tools and validate the data using both technical (scripts) and functional (PlotBox QA) mechanisms
  • Communicating data anomalies to project and customer teams to ensure issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner
  • Developing T-SQL queries to address data issues
  • Estimating and completing tasks as part of a sprint team
  • Contributing to project planning to ensure data migration activities and milestones are accurately represented and customers well informed of their responsibilities
  • Analysing client data and draft data analysis reports
  • Delivering Quality Assurance tests and checks on data migration scripts
  • Working with the technical consultants to understand requirements and correct issues flagged in UAT
  • Identifying and escalating risk and issues to project leadership as appropriate
  • Contributing to the ongoing development/enhancement of data migration tools and framework
