We have a thrilling opportunity for a software developer with a passion for GIS to join our team!
In our newly created role of GIS Software Engineer, you’ll be an integral part of our sprint teams, enhancing our capacity to deliver cutting-edge greenfield technology. You’ll work on the product roadmap, tackle live fix issues, and handle change requests, ensuring a dynamic and fulfilling experience.
In this role, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment, designing and delivering core system modules and features. Your contributions will make a tangible impact, driving our product enhancements forward..
Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for delivering pre-agreed activities within each sprint which include:
- Develop high-quality, maintainable software using object-oriented programming languages such as Java, PHP, or C#.
- Work with mapping technology to build out best in class mapping visualisations.
- Build and consume modern REST APIs, focusing on efficient and secure data exchange.
- Utilize relational database skills for effective data management, including querying and configuration.
- Guide and mentor junior developers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, actively engaging in problem-solving and project planning.
- Gradually build a strong working knowledge of the PlotBox Product.
Who we think will be a great fit
You should have:
- A minimum 4 years of relevant experience in software development.
- Ideally 2 years of experience in object-oriented programming (Java, PHP, or C#).
- Experience working with mapping software such as ESRI, Google Maps, Leaflet, or similar.
- Understanding of geospatial technology and theory.
- Strong skills in building and consuming modern REST APIs.
- Solid experience in relational database management.
- Experience with Jira Management, Bitbucket, and Developer Tooling.
It’s not a deal breaker, but ideally you will have some:
- Experience with Azure.
- Knowledge of or experience with drone hardware/software platforms (a plus, but not essential).
