Senior GIS Technician

Working as part of our Mapping team the Senior GIS Technician will report to a Mapping Manager and will work alongside a team of Engineers and Surveyors as well as supervising less experienced GIS technicians. The purpose of the role is to contribute to the completion of all Mapping related tasks to satisfy our customers needs and to the continual innovation of the product.

Responsibilities: 

• Creation of georeferenced aerial mosaics
• Using Photoshop to alter TIFF’s, PNGs and JPEGs.
• Creating webmaps through the use of Arcmap, ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
• Design work using AutoCAD and Carlson survey Software.
• Champion product consistency and support implementation of product standards .
• Continuous innovation to improve current product capabilities.
• General assistance to wider mapping team effort.
• Responsible for supervising Junior GIS Technicians

What we are looking for: 

• Educated to degree level  in geography, computer science or engineering OR relevant comparable experience 
• 5 + years experience as GIS Technician using ArcGIS Pro
• Experience of supervising others 
• Working knowledge of : 
• Photoshop
• ArcGIS Pro
• ArcGIS Online
• G suite (mail, drive, hangout, docs)
• Microsoft 365 app’s
   

Desirable Experience - It’s not a deal breaker, but ideally you will have: 

• Experience in use of:
  • Pix4D
  • AutoCAD
  • Python 
  • Jira software
  • Knowledge of GIS programming
